thanks so much for all your support. i hope tumblr realizes their mistake, but to reach their current level of delusion and complete lack of respect for what made tumblr what it is, they’re probably long past the point of saving.

in any case, me being here or not makes no difference to them, but i’ve considered this place my social media “home” for a long time and i’m exhausted at the mere thought of abandoning it and starting all over somewhere else.

Some corrections:

  • While underage characters are TECHNICALLY banned on Newgrounds, I’ve posted them without any problem and seen other people do so as well. It seems like one of those soft bans that they’ll only enforce if someone kicks up enough of a fuss about it.
  • If FurAffinity’s banned non-furry art, they’re doing a pretty shit job of enforcing it seeing as I’ve been posting humans there for years and they even have “Human” as a selectable species category for your art..

I asked around and Newgrounds only steps in when the characters appear to be underage within the picture. Not “listed as underage in their canon, but for some reason has full adult proportions and maturity levels”.  (and they still look the other way unless its egregious). Also, other less visually obvious but still as controversial content like rape, incest, and gore is also allowed. You simply have to tag wisely.

Furaffinity has never banned non-furry art. Only insists that artists be open to furry content, and highly recommends some furry content in the galleries (including monsters).

Just chiming in that HF is riddled with racism and other such shit and literally blamed ‘SJWs’ for having to stop allowing loli/shota content in the most passive aggressive news post I’ve ever seen a site put out, with the full implication they’d go right back to allowing it ‘once the fuss dies down’.

And also shadman is still a big active force on newgrounds and buds with the guy who runs it apparently so that’s….something.

Like there’s not really any sites that allow porn as a draw that aren’t awful or a big step down in terms of the size of the audience you could reach, just…be aware when you make your choices, yeah? Esp if you’re the sort of artist whose content and views could earn you hostily from the likes of HF and newgrounds.
